Hello my Table Tennis Professionals,
Welcome back FROM the 13 September 2024 to our Regular Table Tennis, 11:30 start at Storm Fitness & Leisure, Chadwell road, Grays RM17 5TD.
If you wish to join our Group, Please come with your U3A membership card and your U3A ID Badge and I can register you in the Attendance Register. You ony pay to play on the days you actually attend,
On the 5th of September 2024, it is the FIRST Anniversary of our Table Tennis Club that Dearly departed Mr Peter Dale, my best friend for 49 Years, came from Kent to help me launch, in 2023. His funeral was on 30th August 2024. He will be immensely missed. May his soul R.I.P.
I relayed your good wishes to his family from the Thurrock's U3A Table Tennis and the 10 Pin Bowling Clubs that he visited as a Orpington U3A member. The private Family only cremation, Church Service with many eulogies and Reception went very smoothly indeed 🙏.
Hope you all had a peaceful and relaxing Break 🤞
Look forward to renewing our transition into the September 2024 Season and seeing some great play and friendly constructive banter.

Wow, the game play has improved across the board. Good to see all of you making such great improvements.
There is the " slow and steady group", the "I am very comfortable now playing in any group" , and " the fiery competitive group".
Some continue to practice their strokes whilst others indulge in competitive games scoring to the Modern 11 standard or the Old Fashioned original 21.
All very exciting to watch and participate in, although some of us stop and pause and rest when it gets a bit too strenuous.
🏓 For New Comers who wish to join this group, it's Group Leader is Mr Sunil Chopra, known as Sunny.

The venue is:-
USP Palmer’s Storm Fitness and Leisure Centre, Chadwell Rd, Grays RM17 5TD
Event Day: Fridays
Time : 11.30 to 13:00 (Hour and a Half)
Cost: £3.50, pay only when you attend.
We are allocated space in the main hall and have up to 3 table tennis tables. Equipment is provided but you may bring your own bat if preferred. If more than 12 of us attend we take turns at the tables but if you prefer not to stay Storm reception will credit you on your next session.
You need to be a U3A member, so please bring your membership card to your first session and wear your badge at every session. You will be given a table tennis ID and you will sign the attendance book each session. Please let Sunny know if you cannot attend any week or if you are no longer attending. We have little rules like taking your chair back after a session but I’m sure you will enjoy our happy, friendly table tennis sessions.

Please be aware, Storm Leisure is now open for our play on 31 May 2024 too, in contrast to what we had previously been advised.
